Matt Allen is in his second year at Oglethorpe County as an assistant baseball coach.

He has 12 years of baseball coaching experience, most recently as the varsity assistant at Apalachee High School under Clint Harrison, a current assistant at Kennesaw State University. He also had the opportunity to coach with his father, Don Allen, before his retirement in 2002.

Matt is a graduate of Stockbridge High School, where he played baseball and basketball. He went to Presbyterian College out of high school, transferred to DeKalb College (now Georgia Perimeter), and finished his undergraduate work at Kennesaw State University. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of West Georgia. He currently teaches Health, Personal Fitness, and Weight Training at the high school.

In addition to his baseball duties, he is also the head softball coach and head boys basketball coach at Oglethorpe Co.
